Let Y = Why

"The inspiration… was one or two nights of ayahuasca (visionary
plant-drink of the Amazon) during which, lying in a hammock in
the breezy darkness of a jungle hut, I sang the word ‘why’ up
toward the palm-thatched ceiling repeatedly with different
modulations, different pitches, different volumes, different
lengths of vocalization… So it's a kind of notation of a sound
poem, after the fact.”
